What are our clients saying about our Whitening?
The Whitening was great! So happy I found this place. Definitely will come back some day. Really good results! Andrea C. Student Oct. 2016 |
I had Beyond in-House with Dr. Sandeep who was very friendly and thoughtful. The treatment worked so well, I could clearly see my teeth had whitened 4-5 shades on the scale- very impressive – and I had no sensitivity compared to another product I tried years ago! I would highly recommend Freemans Bay Dental for professionally guided whitening as I know many are not and have risks involved. Thank you Sandeep & Rebecca!
Denine Neilson Manager May 2018 |
I have been going to Freemans Bay Dental for a few years now and the staff have always been super lovely. I recently got my teeth whitened for the first time here and the experience was made so comfortable for me. I can definitely see the difference and am so happy with the results. I would highly recommend Freemans Bay Dental clinic.

Teeth Whitening FAQs
1. Do I need to have my teeth cleaned prior to whitening appointment?
For best possible whitening results, our dentist recommends a full hygiene clean prior to whitening (this can be done in the same appointment prior to whitening). If you have got a clean done in last 1-2 months time, usually it’s fine to go ahead with whitening unless dentist notices lot of plaque built up.
2. How long will the appointment take?
Normally we allow 1 hour and 15 minutes for a whitening appointment however if you also require a clean prior to whitening, please allow at least 1 hour and 45 minutes. We offer 3 full sessions of whitening within this one appointment and in each session, fresh original beyond Polus whitening gel is applied followed by a 10-12 minutes cycle of Beyond Polus TM whitening accelerator to give you the best possible bright and sparkly smile.
3. How much does it cost?
You are looking at $449 for 3 full cycles of whitening all within the convenience of one appointment. In each cycle, fresh original beyond Polus whitening gel is applied by replacing the used gel in previous cycle, which is followed by a 10-12 minutes cycle of Beyond Polus TM whitening accelerator. We use Original Beyond Polus high conc. Whitening gels supplied by Beyond Polus NZ supplier. We DO NOT use any similar low conc./cheaper whitening gels or alike products to compromise on quality of whitening any cheaper third party unsafe or low concentration gels to compromise on the quality of whitening results therefore we can not offer whitening at any cheaper price, like some other places, due to high cost of original high conc. gels used by us, but still we have tried to keep our prices very competitive.
If accompanied by a clean prior to Whitening, you are looking at $649 altogether for this service.

4. What can I expect to happen during the whitening appointment?
Our qualified and highly experienced dentist will check your teeth first, then protect your gums and apply Beyond Polus original high conc. Whitening gel, which only qualified dentist can use. This is then followed by a 10-12 minute Beyond Polus whitening accelerator (cool white light accelerates the process of whitening) session. This cycle is then repeated 3 times, using fresh original gel in every cycle, offering you a beautiful bright smile at the end of your appointment.
5. Do I need to take any precautions pre or post-whitening?
Pre-Whitening- If you have very sensitive teeth in general, we recommend that you start using a sensitive pro-relief or sensodyne toothpaste using a soft toothbrush, at least one week prior to coming to us. This will help reduce the sensitivity experienced during the whitening procedure.
Post-Whitening- Beyond Polus Whitening system recommends refraining from coloured food and drinks like red wine, tea , coffee, beetroot, spinach or curries etc. for at least 24-48 hours to stabilize the whitening results. We also recommend using a soft toothbrush and colgate sensitive pro-relief or sensodyne toothpaste for next few days following the whitening treatment.
6. Which whitening product do you use?
We use Original Beyond Polus high conc. Whitening gels supplied by Beyond Polus NZ supplier. We DO NOT use any similar low concentration/cheaper gels or alike products to compromise on quality of whitening results therefore we can not offer whitening at any cheaper price, like some other places, due to high cost of original high concentration gels used by us, but still our prices are very competitive.
7. How can I ensure I get the best possible results from my whitening session?
A full Beyond Polus whitening treatment will generally get your teeth to as white as they can naturally go. Before your procedure, It is imperative to have a scale and polish with your hygienist or with us. The reason for this is to get rid of all the plaque deposits to increase the effectiveness of the teeth whitening. To maintain this shade improvement, we recommend the use of a post-treatment take home kit. A take home kit will not only maintain the level of whitening, it will also discourage build up of plaque on the front of the teeth reducing the chance of periodontal related diseases.
If you have very sensitive teeth, you can start using a sensodyne or colgate sensitive pro-relief toothpaste 1 week prior to coming for In-Office teeth Whitening treatment- this will help reduce the sensitivity experienced during the whitening procedure.

8. How long do whitening results last for and how long should I wait after my whitening session before I can repeat it?
Beyond Polus TM Teeth Whitening system advises that the whitening results last for approx 1-2 years time depending upon genetic make-up of your teeth as well as your food habits especially if you are a smoker or heavy consumer of curries or dark coloured food or drinks like tea/ coffee or red wine. In general, you can repeat whitening session anytime after 1 year or sometime between 1-2 years when you feel you are ready to go for it.
9. Will teeth whitening whiten veneers, crowns and implants?
The teeth whitening process will remove intrinsic staining from your natural teeth. However, the gel will also help remove all extrinsic staining from all teeth, including false teeth. This means that your false teeth will be ‘cleaned’ back to their original colour but crowns, veneers and Implants can NOT be whitened any further than their natural colour you got them in. If you are planning to have a crown, bridge, filling or false tooth, it is recommended that you first have your teeth whitened. Your dentist will then be able to match the shade of the false tooth to your new colour.
10. Is the process safe to my teeth?
Yes, Absolutely! The treatment does not change the shape or structure of your teeth in anyway. Though if you have very sensitive teeth in general, you may experience some sensitivity to your teeth during the procedure and for next 1-4 days, before your teeth get back to normal.

11. How soon after my whitening session will I see results?
Immediately! There is no waiting around for 2 or 3 weeks to see the results. As soon as you are finished with your laser teeth whitening treatment, you will look in the mirror and see the results. If we do not whiten your teeth, you will not be charged for the procedure.
12. How many shades will my teeth whiten by?
On average we whiten teeth 4-8 shades. This depends on the mineral content contained in the dentin of your teeth. Results will therefore vary between individuals. Mineral content depletes with age, by the foods you ingest, and can also be affected by medicines that you may have taken as a child. Generally speaking, we will get your teeth to as white as they were when you were a teenager and sometimes whiter. Some people prefer not to have this level of whiteness, and should request prior to a procedure not to have their teeth whitened too dramatically.

14. Do I feel pain/sensitivity during this procedure?
You don’t feel any pain during this procedure but you may feel some sensitivity depending upon the make-up/genetics of your teeth. 15. Can I do this whitening if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Since there have not been enough research/studies done on the effects of bleaching gels on babies in utero, and it’s purely a cosmetic treatment, it’s best to hold off until you’re done with pregnancy and breastfeeding. The procedure can be safely performed shortly after the baby is born and mother does not breastfeed any longer.
16. What is the difference between whitening treatments performed in beauty salons/whitening clinics and those at a dental clinic?
When deciding to undergo a teeth whitening treatment, it’s always important to bear in mind the safety of your teeth. A procedure carried out at a professional dental clinic is a guarantee of professional care of experienced dental staff (dentists & hygienists), reliable advice, recommendations, and good results. Moreover, high conc. gels can only be used by qualified, registered dentists/dental hygienists. BEYOND POLUS is a totally safe teeth whitening method, but unless it is performed with adequate skills, it may cause negative effects for the patient and fail to bring the expected results.
17. What are the contraindications to teeth whitening?
There are usually no contraindications to teeth whitening. However, there are some situations that completely or temporarily exclude the treatment. Possible contraindications are-
• Mechanical tooth damage or cavities. Prior to the teeth whitening procedure, all cavities or lesions must be repaired.
• Bad oral hygiene with inflammation of the gums. It is necessary to change dental care habits and cure the inflammation prior to Whitening.
• Allergies or hypersensitivity to oxidizing agents & whitening gels, glycerine and polyacrylic resins.
• Pregnancy and breast-feeding. The procedure can be safely performed shortly after the baby is born and the mother does not breastfeed any longer.
• Under 16 years of age, due to ongoing tooth mineralization. Whitening is possible after the mineralization process has been completed.
